Luxurious, one-of-a-kind metallic epoxy floor systems with hand-manipulated swirls, pearlescent depth, and a glass-like finish — custom-crafted for basements, showrooms, and statement spaces across Utah.
Overview
Metallic epoxy floors are where art meets engineering. Unlike our flake systems that deliver uniform, repeatable patterns, metallic floors are hand-crafted — each one entirely unique, shaped by the way metallic pigments flow, react, and settle within the epoxy as it cures. The result is a floor with stunning three-dimensional depth, pearlescent shimmer, and organic movement that resembles polished marble, flowing lava, or ocean currents depending on the colors and techniques used. B&R Concrete Coatings specializes in these high-end installations for Utah homeowners and businesses who want a floor that doubles as a design centerpiece. Every metallic floor we pour is one-of-one — impossible to replicate exactly, and guaranteed to be a conversation starter in any space.
Our process
Every job follows the same proven sequence — because consistency is what makes our Limited Lifetime Warranty worth the paper it's printed on.
Metallic epoxy demands a perfectly clean, profiled substrate. We diamond-grind the entire slab to remove contaminants and create the mechanical bond profile. Any debris, oil residue, or inconsistency will telegraph through the high-gloss finish, so preparation standards are even more critical than with flake systems.
Crack and joint repair is job-specific and quoted as an additional cost when needed.
A pigmented or clear epoxy primer is applied to seal the slab, block moisture vapor, and establish a uniform base tone that influences how the metallic layer reads. Dark primers create dramatic depth; light primers amplify shimmer and luminosity.
The metallic coat is where the artistry happens. We mix pearlescent metallic pigments into clear or tinted epoxy and pour it onto the floor in controlled patterns. Using rollers, squeegees, and specialized techniques, we manipulate the material to create swirls, waves, clouds, or veining — working with the natural flow of the pigments as they settle.
After the initial spread, we use heat guns, blowers, and solvents to further agitate the metallic pigments — causing them to separate, drift, and create the three-dimensional depth and organic movement that defines a metallic floor. This step requires experience and artistic judgment; timing is everything.
Once the metallic layer has fully cured, we apply two coats of crystal-clear polyaspartic or epoxy topcoat to protect the design, add scratch resistance, and deliver the high-gloss, glass-like finish that makes metallic floors look like liquid beneath your feet.
Why choose this system
No two metallic floors are alike — ever. The way pigments interact with epoxy, temperature, humidity, and manipulation technique ensures your floor is a genuine original that can never be exactly reproduced.
Metallic pigments settle at different levels within the epoxy, creating layers of shimmer and movement that shift with lighting and viewing angle — giving the illusion of depth far beyond the actual coating thickness.
The multi-coat clear topcoat delivers a glass-smooth, reflective surface that amplifies natural and artificial light, making spaces feel larger, brighter, and more luxurious.
Beneath the beauty is the same commercial-grade epoxy and polyaspartic chemistry used in our industrial systems — resistant to chemicals, abrasion, impact, and moisture for years of reliable performance.
No grout lines, no seams, no porous surfaces. The continuous finish is easy to clean, resistant to mold and bacteria growth, and ideal for spaces where aesthetics and cleanliness both matter.
Choose from silver, gold, copper, pearl, charcoal, ocean blue, emerald, burgundy, and dozens of other metallic pigments — or combine multiple colors for a multi-toned effect tailored to your design vision.

Common questions
We install a commercial-grade full-flake system with an epoxy base coat and a durable polyaspartic topcoat. This creates a beautiful, long-lasting finish that is far stronger than DIY kits or paint-on products.
Most projects are completed in one day. You can typically walk on the floor within 24 hours and park vehicles on it within 48–72 hours.
With proper installation and care, our coating systems are designed to last a lifetime.
Yes. Every floor is mechanically diamond-ground to properly open the concrete and create the best possible bond. We never use acid etching or shortcut prep methods.
Yes. We can repair cracks, pits, spalling, and other surface imperfections prior to coating your floor. Because the amount of repair work varies from project to project, concrete repairs are quoted separately and added as an additional cost when needed. During your estimate, we'll evaluate the condition of your concrete and provide transparent pricing for any recommended repairs.
Our full flake system adds texture that provides excellent slip resistance, even when wet.
Pricing depends on the size and condition of the concrete as well as the coating system selected. We provide free estimates and transparent pricing.
We stand behind our floors with a limited lifetime warranty for the original homeowner. Our warranty covers defects related to product failure or installation issues, including peeling, delamination, or coating failure under normal residential use. The warranty is valid only for the original purchaser and is non-transferable if the home is sold. Damage caused by the homeowner — including gouges, scratches, impact damage, chemical abuse, burns, or damage caused by improper use or neglect — is not covered. Natural concrete movement, foundation cracking, and acts of nature are not covered. If a failure occurs due to our installation or a product defect, we will repair the affected area at no cost to you. We use commercial-grade materials and proven installation methods so you can feel confident your floor is built to last.
